“I graduated from high school at Eskola Filial Hu-Iso Lara-Iso, Bogoro in 2020, I planned to continue my studies but our economy was not sufficient, so I decided to earn a living to help my family. On holidays such as the day of the deceased and New Year, I always run this business because on holidays my merchandise always sells well. The money I used to start this business I borrowed from my mother, then after selling the merchandise I returned the money I got to my mother and the interest money was for me. The merchandise I sell such as Tutupa for 0.10 cents, satay for 0.25 cents, Pop mie for 0.50 cents and fuel for $1.00 and $2.00. On holidays these merchandise can sell well and get a decent income compared to normal days, on holidays I can get $50.00 to $100.00, but on normal days I only get $10.00 to $30.00. I put some of the money aside to buy food and some for daily needs,” She said.
She added that even with a small business like this, it could help her to meet her family’s needs, because she has many family members so that through this business she can meet her daily needs.
“I am very happy to run this small business to meet the needs of my family, because I have 9 siblings consisting of 7 girls and 2 boys and 1 sister and 1 brother are still in junior high school and some have graduated from high school and some are married, I am the 3rd child of 9 siblings.” She continued.
She added that as a young woman she did not feel ashamed to run this business on the side of the road, because through this business she could learn how to support her family, and how to help her parents. Her plan in the future is to open a shop and also wants to continue her studies in 2025.
