Dili, January 16, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employees (SEFOPE) through the National Directorate of Foreign Employees (DNEE) signed a declaration with 43 Timorese workers before leaving for work in South Korea.
SEFOPE, Rogerio Araújo Mendoça said that DNEE with employees made a good relationship and works really well, so that on January 15, 2025, 43 Timorese workers have sent to work in South Korea.
“The 43 Timorese workers wearing RDTL hats and shirts, you do not represent municipalities like A or B, but you are Timorese,” he said at Timor Lodge, on Wednesday.
He continued, ceremonies like these are very important in order to educate young people to obey the rules that apply in both countries.
“So, to educate the young people who leave with sufficient skills and when they return they can add to the experience they have and with sufficient funds they can also support their families and can contribute to this beloved country, Timor-Leste.” He said.
SEFOPE asked the new Timorese workers, who numbered almost 28 people, and the workers who re-entry who numbered 15 people, to comply with the attitude of the workers who re-entry, because they were not out of the system.
When workers work well, the company owner will certainly trust them because they work well and provide benefits to the employer.
“Previously, a number of employers called them back to fill four-year contracts, I told the 28 Timor-Leste workers to be careful when leaving for work in South Korea, don’t be illegal,” he stressed.
He informed that a few months ago the workers just came to the training place in South Korea, then his friends called them to get out of the system, and luckily he was willing to cooperate because he was running all day and night.
“What we announced from the SEFOPE office and he surrendered himself. South Korea when you use your mobile phone to work there, but we wrote a letter to be sent to the South Korean embassy in Timor-Leste asking the South Korean HRD to send people in your company back to Timor-Leste. I don’t want to do these things, and also when you come back there is no work, therefore, I ask Timor-Leste workers to work well and must obey the rules or criteria in that country.” He told
As Director of DNEE, João Correia Pereira said that in 2025 he will start sending 43 young people including one woman and they will work in the Fisheries sector with a total of 20 people and 8 people in factories and 15 people were re-entry.
“DNEE told all of us here that we can say that they are very good employees, according to the employers, because five years with the employers were not easy and they returned to Timor-Leste, so the employers called them back to South Korea together for five years.” He explained.
In addition, the workers will depart on January 20 and will arrive in South Korea on January 21, 2025, asking the employees to take care of themselves, as they will undergo one more health test, which means they will take care of themselves from now until the test at the HNGV.
DNEE asked parents to care for each other because the opportunity does not come twice to get this opportunity. There is a difficult process with full patience, but with their patience, they can get this opportunity.
