Dili, 16 February 2026 (Média Democracia) – Thirty (30) former student of Jawa Bali commemorated Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2026, with a blood donation at Guido Valdares National Hospital (HNGV). The commemoration took place at HNGV Dili.
Representative of Jawa Bali students João Brites Santos, said that in relation to February 14th, as a day of love, so Jawa Bali former students share love through blood donation to those who need blood to save their lives.
“February 14th, we also take the opportunity to commemorate this day by sharing our love through blood donation to those in need, now, we’re about 30 people marking our presence here, all of us students, some from Jawa and some from Bali. We took the initiative to do this activity through a group called Se Jawa Bali.” Said Representative of Jawa Bali students João Brites Santos, to journalists at HNGV, Saturday (14/02/2026)
The Representative also added that through this event, they want to awareness to the community to donate bloood with a willing heart, so we can save others’ lives. He belives that through activities like this can change people’s mindset on how share a drop of their blood with others.
“I would like to send a message to the community, hoping that from our positive activity, it can inspire everyone to have the willingness to donate blood to the Blood Bank, because we all know some people really need blood.” Added representative of Jawa Bali students
At the same place, the Head of the Blood Bank Department at Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV), Alexandrino Mendonça, said he is grateful to the former Jawa Bali Students who have shown their love on February 14th to patients through blood donation, as many people really need blood to save their lives.
“On behalf the Blood Bank, I would like to express our gratitude to the former Jawa Bali Students who have come to donate blood voluntarily, and on this Valentine’s Day, show love to patiens currently admitted at HNGv.” Said the Head of the Blood Bank Department
The Head of Department affirms that on behalf of the Blood Bank Department, they continue to express gratitude to the former Jawa Bali Students who have thought and generosity to initiate activities like free blood donation to those who are sick and need it to save their lives.
The former Jawa Bali Students are futher explaining that they are doing this volunteer activity of blood donation for the sick people currently admitted at HNGV, so they can save live, because a drop of blood can save others’ lives.
