“AIFAESA” DESIMINE CODE OF CONDUCT FOR REPAIRING THE HOUSE BEFORE DOING A TASK

Dili, January 20, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Inspection and Physicalization Authority of Economic and Sanitary Activities (AIFAESA) held a Code of Conduct Establishment ceremony for AIFAESA employees held at the CNE hall.

AIFAESA Inspector, Odete Maria Viegas said, the activity of designing the code of conduct aims to maintain consistency in the implementation of the AIFAESA 2025 plan which begins to share information about institutional guidelines.

“As has been conveyed that we want to improve first at home, then do the task, the rules that we will convey are still general in nature on general aspects related to employee discipline at AIFAESA itself, but for more specific aspects we will describe in all directions, the work manual that will be used we will discuss in more detail.” She said.

However, as a guideline that will be a guide not only for employees starting from organs to employees below them to know the administrative guidelines at the AIFAESA institution.

She said that because all personnel at AIFAESA are contractual, currently they are still implementing quarterly performance assessments, and the same goes for the information standardization that was previously discussed, such as the code of conduct.

“Tomorrow we will talk about the violation regime, which talks about inspectors who will conduct physicalization and monitoring in the operator economy, the existing agencies they already know, what kind of rules they must obey and they must understand that the tasks they do they know very clearly so that when they publish they have a defense for themselves.” She added.

This code of conduct is now in effect so that in performance appraisals if staff do not comply with the regulations, they already know the guidelines, if they do not comply they must accept the consequences stated by their superiors.

This is a form of learning from each other, because we all work for this country, work for this state, we all have a responsibility to carry out our duties and obligations with high professionalism and dedication, discipline on time and no violations within the institution.

Therefore, she said that AIFAESA’s role as a physicalization role is to monitor work related to the roles of various parties, especially in consumer protection, so the agency is trying to improve itself, especially the personnel in the AIFAESA institution.

On this occasion, the Coordinator of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Jorge Martins said that today the code of ethics ceremony was launched because AIFAESA as a public institution can have its own standards.

“What is clear is work discipline, physical discipline from officers in the field, so that the public does not misunderstand the duties and responsibilities of AIFAESA as a supervisor and supervisor of food and non-food,” he said.

He said, not only that, AIFAESA must also prepare its human resources well and must have structured discipline and compliance, regardless of their background, whether a doctoral or master’s degree, when they serve in an agency, then the agency has its own standards, not decree law regulations, but has internal rules that regulate the work guidelines of each of its personnel.

“It can be continued as a guideline or input from superiors to be used as a guideline for each employee, if not we are just being careless. The public knows that government institutions are also haphazard in form and the people are haphazard, but we place the people with full responsibility and well.” He said

Therefore, the code of conduct as a guideline to regulate a person’s behavior and attitude in the workplace. The ceremony of establishing this code of conduct will be held for two days and will end tomorrow.

Meanwhile, this activity was attended by AIFAESA employees, starting from the Director, leaders, and staff.
