Dili, 22 January 2026 (Média Democracia) – The Civil Protection Authority (APC) makes a press release to report data on natural disasters that occurred in the territory of Timor-Leste during This week. The Release was made by APC Kaikoli Dili, on Monday this week.
Acording to the Director of the External affairs and Communication Office Cesario da Silva Marques Said, today held a press conferenceto report to the public about the occurred of natural disasters which occurred during this week in the territory of Timor-Leste.
“The conference is to inform to the public about the naural disasters that occurred on twelfth (12) to nineteenth (19), January 2026, during a week in the whole territory of Timor with occurense of the type disasters that Civil Protection Authority (APC), readjusted 57 houses, affected by wind demolution 34 houses, forest fire 3, 26 meet critery, 50 emergency support, 282 people affected, 86 floods”. Said Director of the External Affairs and Communication Office Cesario da Silva Marques, at APC caicoli.
Director of the External affairs and Communication Office added that, municipalities which affected by natural disasters, Aileu municipality wind destroyed 3 houses, Baucau municipality wind destroyed 3 houses, Bobonaro municipality wind destroyed 7 houses and floods 18, Covalima municipality` wind destroyed 1 houses, , Dili municipality` wind destroyed 1 houses, Ermera municipality wind destroyed 1 houses and urban fire 1, Lautem municipality` wind destroyed 3 houses, Likisa municipality wind destroyed 9 houses, Manatuto municipality landslide 1, Manufahi municipality wind destoryed 4 houses and Viqueque municipality wind destroyed 3 houses.
The Director also affirms that, as a government institution based on decree law no 7/2021 22 june article 4. Talked about community support. In the category of damage level will be done the process of lifting emergency packages immediately, so must immediately support these packages according to the law in the civil protection authority(APC)
