Dili, January 24, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (CAC) held a national seminar on the positions of Director and Leader of the Ministerial Provisions on Corruption Prevention and Eradication (CAC) with the theme, “Improving State Apparatus Understanding of the Wealth Declaration Regime” which was opened by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, on Thursday.
In an interview with the Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Verónica das Dores expressed her gratitude to the Corruption Eradication Commission for being willing to conduct outreach so that the public can understand how corridor-based work.
“I thank the commissions that today were able to conduct socialization about the Corruption Eradication program. We need to do this socialization so that everyone can understand how we can work based on a good corridor,” said the Minister of Social Solidarity and Includion.
On this occasion, CAC Rui Pereira dos Santos said that this activity was a form of socialization of the position of Directors and Leaders regarding CAC performance.
“What is important is the existence of leaders, how this information is conveyed to each Ministry, National Advisors, leaders, how their assets can be registered, this is today’s work,” he said.
Because last year in several Ministries, including in the Ministry of Home Affairs which received sanctions with a number of more than 400, some conducted reclamation to the CAC, some of which were considered and some were not considered, so it is expected this with activities that appoint leadership officials and also in the Ministry environment. Therefore, he hopes that this year the advisors and also in the national parliament who last year did not register their assets, this year must register and must admit that they are advisors so that they must register their assets with the relevant parties.
“That’s why we will have a meeting with them, why the 80 plus have not had 25 cut, but last month it was not cut, this month we sometimes do it but we need justification from the Ministry of Finance why the 80 people out of the 400 plus on the list were not cut, who has authorized not to cut,” he stressed.
In addition, this seminar was also attended by a number of Ministers ranging from Director Generals, National Directors, Heads of Departments, to Employees.
