Dili, April 2, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Maubere Puru Boxing Club (CBMP) held a press conference regarding the delegation of boxer Elesio, who will depart for Bali, Indonesia, on April 1, 2025, to participate in the HSS Bali Denpasar event this year. They called on all Timorese people to show their support through prayers. The conference was held at the Olympic Committee during the second week of this month.
The coach of the Maubere Puru Boxing Club (CBMP), Julidio P.B Pinto, stated that on this occasion, he expresses gratitude to the Timorese companies that have provided support to the club, enabling them to participate in the HSS Bali Denpasar event this year.
“We are deeply grateful to the Timorese companies that have given their utmost support to our Maubere Puru Club, allowing us to participate in the event in Bali on April 5 this year. Our team also calls on all Timorese people to support us through prayers so that our boxer can achieve success and bring Timor-Leste to the world stage.” Said the coach of the Maubere Puru Boxing Club (CBMP), Julidio P.B Pinto.
He added that boxer Elisio, who will participate in the event, is set to compete on April 5, 2025, in Bali, Denpasar. He will face off against boxer Alvaro from Indonesia and will compete in the “lightweight”
“I would like to encourage all young Timorese boxers in clubs across Timor-Leste to maintain discipline. That way, our Maubere Puru Club can conduct selections and find ways to bring them to compete at the international level.” He said
He added that the team from the Maubere Puru Boxing Club consists solely of young athletes, with only former boxers dedicating themselves to the club. Besides that, they can also assist the boxing federation in identifying talented boxers, creating a pathway for them to participate in international boxing events.
As a boxer from the Maubere Puru Boxing Club, Elisio Raimundo Gaio stated that he feels very happy and honored to have the opportunity given by the club’s delegation to participate in the event in Bali, Denpasar. He is confident that he will showcase a great performance.
“I am very grateful to my club for giving me the opportunity to participate in the HSS Bali event. Through this opportunity, I have been making great efforts to prepare myself because facing new opponents is not easy. However, I believe that in this competition, I will showcase something great for our nation, Timor-Leste.” Said Elisio Raimundo Gaio
He added that in this competition, he will compete as an amateur and fight within three rounds. In the future, there may be more opportunities to participate in competitions in other countries.
It is explained that boxer Elisio will participate in the HSS Bali event and will face Indonesian boxer Alfaro on April 5, 2025. Furthermore, he calls on all Timorese people to provide support through prayers so that he can compete with great advantage and perform well in the match.
