Commemorating 22nd Anniversary, APORTIL Holds Blood Donation

Dili, March 26, 2025 (Média Democracia) – Celebrating APORTIL’s 22nd anniversary, APORTIL employees held a blood donation activity to help patients who need blood to save their lives.

Vice President of the APORTIL II Regional Leadership Council, Leandro de Sena, said that the blood donation activity held by APORTIL aims to help people who need blood.

“In order to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of APORTIL on March 10 after Timor-Leste’s independence. The activities we did were planting trees in Lahane Osidental to green the land and mountains, secondly blood donation, we want to help sick people who need blood.” Said the Vice President of the APORTIL II Regional Leadership Council, Leandro de Sena

He informed that the Blood Bank is also experiencing problems with blood, therefore, take advantage of the APORTIL Anniversary commemoration moment to gather employees, especially those who are healthy to donate their blood.

“Because with this blood donation, it can help HNGV and our brothers and sisters who are sick and need blood in the hospital, that’s why we are doing today’s activity,” he said.

The blood donation activity offered by APORTIL employees is to help patients who need blood at HNGV.

“The blood donation given by APORTIL employees was based on a list were 20 people, but there were also several friends who took the initiative to come and donate their blood, so the total were 30 people. We would like to thank our friends who have come and donated,” he added.

As the Head of the Blood Bank Department, Maria do Rosario Aleixa Berek said that the HNGV Blood Bank came here to donate blood for APORTIL employees who would donate their blood.

“Today, we from HNGV through the Blood Bank are holding a blood donation here, because as we know that at HNGV there are many patients who are in dire need of blood, therefore we are very grateful for this opportunity to APORTIL who are willing to donate their blood to save many patients.” She said.

She explained the criteria for people who are physically and mentally healthy, do not have any illnesses, are not taking medication that can affect blood quality, must rest for 8 hours, must have enough rest before being allowed to donate blood.

In addition, this activity was also attended by more than 30 APORTIL employees and also health workers.
