INCSIDA.IP CONTINUES TO SHARE HIV/AIDS TRAINING WITH 123 STUDENTS AT CRISTAL SCHOOL

Dili, January 17, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The National Institute for HIV/AIDS Prevention continues to conduct outreach to students at Cristal School, and a total of 123 students participated in this training. This training discusses the prevention of HIV/AIDS in the country because they are the successors to the country’s development. This activity was held on Thursday.

According to the President of the National Institute for HIV/AIDS Prevention, Daniel Marçal, if the young generation does not take care of themselves to facilitate important training. Just imagine if all young people are infected with HIV/AIDS, the future of this country is over. Our leaders have prepared this country with a good situation, because many young people in Timor-Leste have a democratic system with a free life.

“I give an example, men do not understand dating and marriage, all women are the same because they do not have the understanding and knowledge as we see now, many students do not go to school and drop out, they drop out not because their parents are not economically capable but because of free association which makes them only want to date, have free sex and they know that their partner has been infected with the HIV/AIDS virus, this bad attitude is what makes the spread of the HIV/AIDS virus continue to spread in this country.” Said the President

He continued, that young people in this country are all the same, they think that having sex is very important in their lives and it is their right but they also have to know the rules in having sex, this is a problem because in this country the number of HIV/AIDS cases continues to increase with more than 2000 people affected by sexual relations.

“There is no complete data for this year, but last year most of the young people aged 15 and above in Dili were infected with HIV/AIDS caused by sexual relations which was detected in the hospital when they did a blood test, they only got two blood filters because they were already infected with HIV/AIDS. Free sex is very difficult for us to regulate because they do it in places we don’t know and also because in our country there is no law that regulates this action, because in Timor-Leste there are many illegal places in Dili that are breeding grounds for the HIV/AIDS virus.” He said.

He emphasized, even so, we do not yet know what our leaders think, talking about localization, many people criticize it, but there are no rules regarding promiscuous sexual behavior, so it is very difficult to suppress the number of HIV/AIDS viruses in this country.

“We already have a plan which coordinated with religious and government officials including the hotel, but there is no agreement because there are pros and cons, because there are those who do not understand but are very critical because in Timor-Leste the majority of Catholics do not have free sex, but in reality in this country there are many illegal localizations, prostitution does not only occur for women who walk at night but there are also many who want to have sex because of money to meet their needs.” He added.

He added that the future plan is to provide training for the young generation in Timor-Leste to reduce promiscuous sexual behavior, so that they can live safely and peacefully and avoid HIV/AIDS in this country.

As the Person in Charge of Student Affairs, Tome de Deus said that in 2025 the Cristal Education Institute prioritize the lives of young people, especially in the health sector, so that previously INCSIDA.IP had provided training on handling the HIV/AIDS virus in Timor-Leste.

“Previously, the National Institute for HIV/AIDS Prevention has come and provided training to students at the Cristal Education Institute on how to prevent themselves from the HIV/AIDS virus which continues to increase in this country, because this virus is very difficult to overcome so that the young generation is asked to reduce free sex behavior wherever they are.” He said.

He continued that this program is very good because teachers at the Cristal Education Institute have made plans if in the future they continue to create new programs so that they can invite INCSIDA.IP and the team to continue to socialize this information to prevent the young people from this virus.

“As teachers at the Cristal Education Institute, we continue to strive hard every schedule to always convey the information we receive from INCSIDA.IP well so that young people can prevent themselves from free sex because in Timor-Leste currently the number of HIV/AIDS sufferers is still high.” He added.

To explain better that INCSIDA.IP distributed training to students at the Cristal Education Institute with a total of 123 students who attended the training that talked about how to prevent HIV/AIDS in the country and should avoid free sex.
