“Every year we always share Ao Combat HIV/AIDS training to students, at-risk groups including health workers in Timor-Leste, because the role of INCSIDA.IP is so that students and the community can know how to prevent themselves from HIV/AIDS, because they are the new generation for the future of this country.” She said.
She continued, to prevent this disease, one must have one’s own awareness to avoid free sex because this disease is very difficult to cure if someone has been infected with HIV/AIDS.
“To prevent HIV/AIDS, we continue to work together with implementing partners to conduct research in rural areas, villages and sub-villages, in order to provide training on how to prevent HIV/AIDS, so that the community can increase their knowledge, because most HIV/AIDS cases occur in rural areas due to the lack of information they receive.” Said the Director of INCSIDA.IP
As a teacher at Nicolau Lobato school, Alcino Moniz said that he really appreciated the training given by INCSIDA.IP to the new students because it was very good because it could increase their knowledge about how to prevent themselves from HIV/AIDS.
“INCSIDA.IP which provides training to new students I think is very important because the young generation is the next generation of the nation. Therefore, through this training, the school wrote a letter to INCSIDA.IP to provide training to students as provisions in the future so that they can prevent themselves from HIV/AIDS.” He said
He added that HIV/AIDS is very dangerous for everyone’s life, so that through this training, it can provide provisions for students, especially the younger generation, to prevent themselves from this disease. He is sure that in the future HIV/AIDS will continue to decline in Timor Leste.
To further explain that the information socialization program as the first preventive measure for HIV/AIDS transmission in Timor-Leste and the function of this program is to make everyone aware to prevent themselves from contracting this virus. Therefore, the National Institute for HIV/AIDS Combat has coordinated with several schools to hold information socialization activities for HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases in the scope of orientation for new students.
