Dili, March 18, 2025 (Média Democracia) – Psychosocial Recovery and Development in Timor-Leste (PRADET) has so far continued to be responsible for the community with mental conditions in Dili, including the municipality.
Coordinator of the Mental Illness Program Assistance at PRADET, Nicolao Vicente Ximenes said that PRADET continues to be responsible for people with mental illnesses especially in the community, on the streets and in the municipality.
“PRADET continues to monitor and provide assistance to those who experience mental disorders, especially in three places, namely the community, on the roadside, and in the municipality, so that these targets will be covered by the existence of the mental disorder handling program at PRADET,” he said.
He also said that the progress of the existing results so far, especially in 2024, PRADET has registered or provided services to people with mental disorders in municipality, on the roadside and in the community, totaling 141 people.
“In the development of several existing results, especially last year in 2024, we can record or provide support services for our friends who experience mental disorders in the city environment, on the roadside and in the community environment with a total of 141 people consisting of 70 men and 71 women and of the 171 friends who experience mental disorders, all of them received treatment, especially from city access to health facilities, health centers and integrated health posts and in Dili also access to health facilities.” He added.
He continued, in last year’s roadside service, PRADET was able to identify 12 people and the team provided routine assistance to provide treatment at the Formoza center.
“In roadside services, like last year, we were able to identify 12 people on the roadside, from those 12 people, our team provided routine assistance to get treatment at the Formoza center, so from the 12 people who had been identified, 4 people were able to get integration because after treatment they were sent back to their families and communities.” Said the coordinator.
Currently, Psychosocial Recovery and Development in Timor-Leste PRADET continues to take responsibility for people with mental health conditions in this country to carry out treatment, so that they can restore their mental condition to normal, although not much better but it can be said to be 70% or 80%.
