Dili, January 31, 2025 (Média Democracia) – Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão met with the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta to discuss the issues facing by Timor-Leste. The weekly meeting was held at the President Palace on Thursday.
In an interview with Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão said that this meeting was to see the work that the current government had been doing and also see its programs, so that the IX government would try to strengthen the financial implementation system properly.
“This weekly meeting the President talked about the problem of rain that damaged many places that we cannot control, we do something but the river brings rocks to block it again, besides it is the same. Last year I went to Dabus to hold a meeting for a week, the government did not answer regarding the 2022 state general account, the IX government only looked at July 1 to December 31, if based on the state general account many things are missing, trying to buy, we ask but never show up but it’s okay all has passed because as President this year we will try hard to strengthen the financial execution system more execution with quality not just doing.” Said the Prime Minister
Meanwhile, regarding expired food items brought by National Logistics to be disposed of in Tibar, it has received a lot of criticism from the public, because there are still many people who are living in hunger, so the Head of Government will bring this issue to be submitted to the Council of Ministers for discussion.
