Dili, August 20, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Ministry of State Administration together with representatives of the Catholic Church visited the Santo Tasi-Tolu altar. This visit was part of the preparation for the solemn Mass that will be celebrated on September 10, 2025 to commemorate the first anniversary of the Apostolic Visit of His Holiness Pope Francis to Timor-Leste. The activity was reported by Média Democracia through the MAE page on Tuesday.
The Executive President of the National Commission of Catholic Youth Timor-Leste (CNJCTL), Fr. Francisco Indra do Nascimento Tey-Seran, said that the preparations are currently being carried out by CNJCTL under the guidance and trust of His Eminence the Cardinal and the Bishops, in order to gather young people from the three dioceses of Dili, Baucau, and Maliana to take part in the anniversary ceremony of Pope Francis’ Apostolic Visit.
“On September 9, 2025, Tasi-Tolu will be opened for young people and pilgrims to come together at the site of the Mass. In the evening there will be a spiritual concert and a prayer vigil together with His Eminence the Cardinal. Then on 10 September, the program will begin with Laudes (Morning Prayer) at 6:00 a.m., followed at 7:00 a.m. by the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by His Eminence the Cardinal, to officially mark the commemoration of the Apostolic Visit of His Holiness the Pope,” said CNJCTL Executive President Fr. Francisco Indra do Nascimento Tey-Seran.
Fr. Francisco further explained that both the vigil and the Mass will be open to the public, with no restrictions on participation, and everyone is welcome to join in prayer and thanksgiving. Pilgrims from the three dioceses are expected to gather at Tasi-Tolu, accompanied by youth groups and liturgical teams. “This celebration is for everyone, especially for the young people,” he stressed.
The preparatory visit to the Santo Tasi-Tolu Altar also saw the presence of the Parish Priest of Balide, the Executive Commissioner for Corporate Services of EDTL, E.P., the Chief of Staff of the Minister of State Administration, the Secretary of the Dili Municipal Administration, ADN, as well as the National Director of the Ministry of State Administration.
