Dili, January 24, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (CAC) will intervene with brokers whose work is registered with the notary of the Ministry of Justice.
CAC, Rui Pareira dos Santos said that currently CAC is conducting ongoing identification, therefore CAC will carry out its duties to search for them.
“I think the intervention of brokers in notaries, we will make something we want, we also need media to do identification hearing like this, so you will find out and we will also find out,” he said.
The CAC will inform the Ministry of Justice and also the Secretary of State for Land and Property Affairs through a registered Civil Notary.
“We have installed it in hospitals, we have installed it in many places, so the point is we work for the country, work with heart, the money we have is our right, but if it belongs to someone else, don’t seize it,” he added.
Previously, the government through the Ministry of Justice would not accept brokers which always occurred in state institutions, because they do not contribute to the running of the state.
The Minister of Justice, Sergio da Costa, informed that regarding brokers he had said many times, he had a commitment.
“What instructions did I give that you conveyed in the media? I directed the general audit inspector to continue to carry out his obligations, so that he continues to try to get information. Regarding brokers, I have spoken many times, we do not recognize irregular activities, people use attitudes and initiatives like this that do not contribute to the dignity of the administration, and responsibility.” He said.
He emphasized that in this case the government is not turning a blind eye so that state institutions, especially the police and criminal investigation agencies, can intervene if there is an odd situation.
He explained that when there is a complaint from the public, the state criminal police institution automatically uses their rights to find out whether the problem really exists or not.
“We do this, then I see in the media I do not comment, but my orientation is to find out clearly that we recommend to the section in the Ministry of Justice.” He added.
He said, there will definitely be obstacles that the government will take action which is good and must be accounted for, the important thing is there is evidence, do not involve emotions.
