Dili, March 19, 2025 (Média Democracia) – INCSIDA President Daniel Marçal said that INCSIDA has a policy to continue sharing information to remote areas, regardless of the long distance or damaged roads.
“We have a good policy to go to a place where cars cannot enter, we just walk, there are those who sleep there with the people in the village, the important thing is that we do not look at the situation and conditions, because we want the public to know information about how to prevent themselves from the HIV-AIDS virus.” Said the President of INCSIDA
He continued, the community must be socialized because they are at risk, as we all know that when they do not know about the HIV-AIDS virus then they are at high risk, for that reason it is necessary to continue to socialize to the community in remote areas.
The President said that if there are citizens who already know information about this virus, but they get HIV, it is not the institution’s fault, but if they do not know the information and get this virus, then it is the institution’s fault because they did not disseminate information to the public.
He emphasized that INCSIDA continues to strive to provide outreach to the community, if they already know and still insist on wanting to continue living freely, that is another matter.
“I think, we try to make sure that everyone knows this information, if they already know but are still stubborn or don’t want to obey, that’s another matter, our task is that all people must have information about the transmission and prevention of HIV-AIDS,” he added.
He said that free sex in Timor-Leste is already very common, so we have to share it with the younger generation so that they care, because he said it feels good but only for a short time, but if you get it you can suffer for a very long time because there is no cure.
Therefore, he asked the young generation to have the mindset that because there is no cure for HIV, the cure is to listen to this information on how to carry out good prevention of health in order to be free and far from this virus.
