MSSI Conditional Support Subsidy for Mother Scholarship Over 7 Million for 68,669 Beneficiaries
Dili, March 20, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) approved 7 million funds for maternal scholarship recipients in the national territory totaling 68,669.
MSSI through the Director General, Florêncio Pina Dias said that they conducted data estimates to approve funds to support subsidies to beneficiaries.
“This year we made a data estimate to approve funds of 7,012,716.00 million USD to support subsidies for beneficiaries in the national territory, which number 68,669.” He said.
He said that the conditional transfer program for children’s education issues aims to provide ongoing support and subsidies to beneficiaries from elementary, middle, and high school levels.
“We all know that based on the law there is a change in beneficiaries, subsidies for elementary schools are 8 USD, junior high schools are 9 USD and senior high schools are 10 USD.” He added.
Based on this month’s information, the system is currently being actualized, but re-verification is not only at the municipality level, because re-verification must also be carried out at the village level and local authority who have the responsibility to provide good service to beneficiaries.
“We will conduct verification which will also determine the identification of new beneficiaries, but this verification will culminate in a request from the Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI) to approve the provision of funds for beneficiaries,” he said.
According to the Director General, children with disabilities in elementary schools will receive a subsidy of 13 USD, junior high schools 14 USD, and high schools 15 USD.
Beneficiaries in elementary schools numbered 40,293 consisting of 19,229 females and 21,064 males with a total of 3,868,128.00 million USD. Beneficiaries in junior high schools numbered 21,981 with a total of 2,373,948.00 million USD. Beneficiaries in senior high schools numbered 6,422 with a total of 770,640.00 million USD. The total for beneficiaries in general was 7,012,716.00 USD.
