Dili, August 27, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The Commander of the National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL), through the Recruitment Organizing Commission for PNTL Cadets 2025, reported progress regarding the submission of application forms and regulations to follow in the 2025 Cadet recruitment tests.
PNTL Commander, who also serves as spokesperson for the 2025 PNTL Cadet Recruitment, António da Luz, stated that on this day the Secretariat and the team will release to the public information related to candidates who received the forms as well as those who have already submitted their documents in each Municipality.
“For candidates who received the forms starting from August 5 until August 25, there were a total of 17,148. Among these, 4,772 did not proceed with the admission process. From this total, 4,428 candidates resubmitted their documents to the focal points in each Municipality. These are divided into categories: General Cadets with a total of 3,037 (composed of 2,254 males and 783 females); Patriotic Generation Cadets totaling 835 (composed of 645 males and 190 females); and children of PNTL members totaling 556 (composed of 396 males and 160 females,” said PNTL Commander and spokesperson António da Luz.
The number of candidates who have already submitted documents to focal points in each Municipality also includes the PNTL Academy in Dili, with a total of 428 submissions. He took this opportunity to inform candidates that after submitting all required documents to the focal points from September 9 to September 10, 2025, the focal points will bring the documents to the Secretariat for verification.
He emphasized that from the documents delivered by Municipal focal points to the Secretariat, verification will be carried out and names will be finalized, determining who passes the document selection and who does not. Those who pass the document selection will continue preparing for the written test. For the written test, each cadet must prepare their own materials such as: 2B pencil, eraser, ruler, and sharpener. Candidates must prepare their own equipment before the exam. The written test will follow the same model as the national exam system, where results will be processed through the system once the exam is completed.
He reaffirmed that candidates who pass the written test will then continue with the physical test, which will be conducted in their respective Municipalities. After completing the physical test, those who pass will proceed to the psychological test, followed by an interview, and the final stage will be the medical test.
