UNTL-FCSP Students Urge the Court of Appeals to quickly publish the PMV Law to the public.

Dili 28 January 2026 (Média Democracia) –  Fakulty of Political Social Sciences (FCSP) Students held a press conference to demand  Appeals Court  not to delay the Vital Pension Law. The conference took place at FCSP Caicoli campus, Tuesday this week.

Spokes-person Auxiliadora Colo stated in the conference, “Timor-Leste as a Democratic State Governed by the people’s will,” the Maubere people’s struggle with hope until independence, unfortunately  saw their expectations unmet and still ongoing. The Maubere people haven’t met their expectations as they’re still facing crises in varios multisectoral areas, destroying sustainability and human life.

Aware that strucrural and sectoral problems didn’t fall from sky but are shaped by the global system of politics, economy, society and culture, called capitalism. Simply, capitalism exists with the interest of accumulating capital trhought exploitation and privatization of public resources legally and illegally as the rulers turn RDTL into a Vital Monhtly Pesion Law.” Said FCSP student Spokes-person, Auxiliadora Colo.

The Spokes-person continued, The rulers are turning RDTL into a predator  law of vital monthly pensions and more, only serving the interests of the minority power and wealht holders in this beloved land. It’s unacceptable, and the new generation will rise to fight fot truth.

Our indicators show us precisely that the global system of politicss,economy, and society will bring great disaster to the people if the philosophy of Total liberation of the people isn’t fully achieved. We’re all concerned about the malpractice of the rulers influnced by this system, dividing and eliminating people as targets of national development,” said the  FCSP student Spokes-person.

The Spokes-person affirm that these conditions appear in varios sector, not bringing total liberation to all people, and continue to exploitnstate resources.”Therefore, the tradition of  the vital monthly pension law is a major exploitation,heavily exploiting the Maubere People’s money, as Writing in article 139 of  the Contitution  of the Democratic Repiblic of Timor-Leste.

Resources from aboveground and underground territorial waters, continental shelf , znd exclusive economik zone are crucial to the state’s economy and should be used properly for everyone’s benefit, following national interests. We all know state resources should serve everyone’s interesets, but the vital monthly pension law, giving privileges to political and economic groups interests,” the spokesperson stated.

The spokesperson stated that for these reason, they urge the Court not to delay the Vital Monthly Pension Law at the high table and declare to everyone that the contsitutionality of the total revocation of the Vital Monthly Pension Law is still pending, thuds demanding the Court to declare this law to the public.

The greatt hope of the Maubere People’s is too abolish the Vital Monthly Pension Law. The public wants to hear the result of the demand now. Everyone happy arter the president of the Republic Promulgates the total revocation of the vital monthly pension law.” She explained.

The spokesperson urged the President of the Court of Appeals to officially declare the constitutionality of the total revocation of the vital monthly pension law based on the condition mentioned, and asked the President of the Court of Appeals to declare the connstitutionality according to the peope’s wishes.

Students from the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL) trhought the Fakulty Social Sciences held a press conference to urge relevant parties, especially the Prime Minister and the President of the Republic, to demand the Court of Appeals quickly declare the contitutionality of the revocation of the Vital Monthly Pension Law in Timor-Leste.
