DILI, 11 March 2026 (Média Democracia) – The Institute of Business (IOB) conducts orientation for the year 2026 with the objective of providing basic knowledge to new students about university areas and university regulation.
According to the Rector of the Institute of Business (IOB) Pedro Barreto Ximenes stated, the objective of this orientation is to introduce university regulations and the learning system at the university level, especially at IOB.
“Our academic orientation activity officially starts today, March 9th, and will end on March 12, 2026, but we have also started preparations since last week, the objective of this activity is to introduce new students to the regulations and learning system at the university level, especially at IOB. Additionally, we’ll also introduce the IOB university enviroment and the learning methods at IOB.” said Rector of the Institute of Business (IOB) Pedro Barreto Ximenes.
He informed that there are many universities with various learning methods from basic education to secondary education, and that is the objective of this orientation, so that new students can adapt and make a successful transition from secondary education to university.
He further stated that according to data, each faculty has a total number of students that doesn’t match the number of students who actually follow their desired faculty.
“Faculty Information Communication and Technology (ICT) has a total of 400 students in its Informatics Technolofy Department, followed by the Faculty of Economics and Business with a total of 300 students, then the Faculty of Engineering with a total of 200 students, and lastly the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism.” said the Rector of IOB.
Meanwhile, IOB has good facilities, with three Campuses, and also has good resources with a total of 450 Lectures reeady to teach all students in the four Faculties, namely the Faculty of Information Communication and Technology (ICT), Economics, Hospitality and Tourism, and Engineering.
