Dili, August 11, 2026 (Media Democracia) – Security authorities, through the Criminal Investigation Service Directorate (DSIK) of the Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL), executed the detention warrant with NUC 0029/23.DIBCR, which was issued by the Dili Judicial Court of First Instance, against the convict with the initials NCJA, 23 years old.
The case is related to the crime of aggravated sexual assault against a minor, which occurred in 2023 and is provided for in Article 173 of the Penal Code of Timor-Leste concerning the “Aggravation” of the crime of sexual assault, according to information on this judicial process.
After receiving the execution of the warrant, the team immediately went to the convict’s residence to apprehend and take him to the Criminal Investigation Service Directorate building at PNTL Headquarters in Caicoli, Dili, and he will be taken to serve his sentence at Becora Prison.
The execution of the warrant took place in Au-Hun Village, Becora Suco, Cristo Rei Administrative Post, Dili Municipality, against the convict with the initials NCJA to detain him to serve a 7 (seven) year prison sentence, according to the decision of the competent judicial authority.
Therefore, the DSIK-PNTL security authority remains committed to executing warrants and judicial decisions, and to carrying out criminal investigation work based on the law, with respect for human rights and the principle of legal certainty.
