The CT-Scan machine has been broken for a month, so patients who need to have a CT-Scan can’t continue treatment at the Guido Valadares National Hospital.” a confirmed source told journalists at HNGV, Monday (10/08).

The source said the CT-Scan machine was operating normally before, but recently broke down, so patients haven’t been able to get treatment to check their illnesses for almost a month.

Yes, patients have also not been coming for a month because the machine is broken. They come to get treatment but the machine is damaged.” he stated.

According to observations by Media Democracia journalists on the ground, the CT-Scan machine is currently broken and not operating. Also, in front of the Computerized Tomography Scan (CT-Scan) Unit room, there are no patients waiting to have checkups because the machine is broken.

Previously, the Minister of Health Élia dos Reis Amaral said regarding the CT-Scan machine currently at the Guido Valadares National Hospital that it has been in use for six years.

We have already purchased a new CT-Scan machine and it is in process to come, so that it can replace the new machine. But as many know, there are no reagents. Sometimes even the CT-Scan itself no longer produces. We are honest, but in the short term we will install the new CT-Scan that we allocated from the 2026 budget.” she concluded.
