TO COMBAT HIV/AIDS VIRUS IN TL, INCSIDA.IP CONTINUES TO PROVIDE DEZIMINE INFORMATION IN HIGH SCHOOLS

Dili, January 14, 2025 (Média Democracia) – The National Institute for the Eradication of HIV/AIDS, Public Institution (INCSIDA.IP) continues to disseminate information on HIV/AIDS prevention and eradication measures to students of Senior High School of São João Paulo II, Bedois, Dili, with the theme, “Let’s protect Timor-Leste together from the problem of HIV transmission.”

The representative director of São João Paulo II, Bother Romenio do Amaral Magalhães, expressed his gratitude to the National Institute for the Eradication of HIV/AIDS for conducting outreach about the HIV/AIDS virus at the school.

“Through this meeting they can share information, especially with students, because we all know that currently there are many young people who do not really understand about HIV/AIDS, they only hear about HIV/AIDS but they do not know for sure about the disease, so that through the socialization provided by this combat institution, it can help students on how to prevent HIV/AIDS.” Said the Representative Director

He emphasized that HIV/AIDS is very dangerous for human life, so it is necessary to provide information to students so that they know how to prevent and avoid this disease.

“We all know that this disease can take someone’s life, therefore through the socialization they provide, it can help us all, especially the students in this school, to avoid this disease,” he said.

On this occasion, the President of the National Institute for HIV/AIDS Prevention, Daniel Marçal, delivered a message to parents because God has given them children, so they can be responsible for their children not only with money and goods but also their attention.

“Parents must pay attention to their children, because now many children live in boarding houses and other places, because parents do not create peace at home, parents become fighters like police and soldiers at home which makes children feel uncomfortable at home.” He said.

He also asked students to respect their parents and teachers so that their future will be better.

“There are no smart people without teachers, teachers change stupid people into smart people, make unknown people into known people, the teacher’s task is very big, therefore I ask students to respect their teachers and students can be guaranteed their future and health, close to God as the owner of this world.” He added.

Therefore, young people must study a lot, seek intelligence to recognize good behavior for their future, must try hard to leave bad behavior in order to maintain health in order to create good friendships with friends and create a healthy environment to move forward.

He also advised young people to date not to have sex, but to date to get to know each other, to support each other for the future, because currently HIV/AIDS is increasingly rampant in Timor-Leste and other countries, because now young people are free. Therefore, young people must create healthy relationships wherever and wherever.
