Dili, 10 February 2026 (Média Democracia) – The Recruitment Commission for the 2025 PNTL member vacancies has decided to postponed the medical test for the 400 selected candidates, because the equipment to be used for testing at the National Laboratory, Guido Valadares National Hospital, is not available.
The spokeperson for the 2025 PNTL recruitment commission, Superintendent António da Luz stated, according to the medical test for 400 PNTL member candidates was held on Tuesday (10/02) to (20/02), but when the Health Department and the National Police Command of Timor-Leste coordinated with the National Laboratory, they said is lacked equipment for the tests, so the Commission decided to postponed thes medical test for the candidates.
“I take this opportunity to inform the public that, as announced last week, that on the 10th we will conduct medical test for the 400 candidates, but after the Health Department coordinated with the National Laboratory of Guido Valadares National Hospital, they confirmed that the equipment for reagent testing is still not available.” Superintendent António da Luz said this at the Police Training Center (CFP) comoro on Monday (09/02)
Thus, on this occasion he appealed to the public to wait for information from the commission, when the equipment is available, the recruitment commission for the 2025 PNTL will inform the candidates to undergo medical tests.
“Therefore, we take this opportunity to inform the public, especially the candidates, to wait until the equipment is available, and then we will inform for the medical test.” Added Superintendent António da Luz
Superintendent António da Luz affirms that the medical test for the 400 cadets has been postponed without setting a new date, meaning there’s no fixed date yet.
“So we have to wait for the laboratory’s response, because it’s not us who make equipment and buy drug, if we get information from the National Laboratoy about the equipment, we’ll annouce it to the public, and hopefully soon the equipment can arrives.” State Police Superintendent
Superintendent António da Luz emphasized that the Recruitment Commission will continue to provide medical tests for the total of 400 candidates, as already announced to the public last week, in accordance with Government Resolution No.10/2025.
“For those who are going for the medical test, the recruitment commission is maintaining the number of 400, continues to advance to the medical test, because it’s based on Government Resolution No. 10/25 that annouced the vacancy needs 400 people. So we maintain.” Emphasized Superintendent António da Luz
In the same place Head of the Health Department of the National Police Command, Analita do Rêgo, added that the medical schedule for the candidates was supposed to be from February 10th to 20th, 2026, but we couldn’t proceed with the test because the equipment used for testing hasn’t arrived from abroad.
“According to the confirmation made by the Health Department with the National Laboratory, the facilities needed for the candidate testing haven’t arrived in Timor yet. So we need to adjust the schedule, PNTL, as a state institution, we’re waiting for the reagent to arrive here, and we can annouce the fixed date to the public.” Said the Health Department of the National Police Command, Analita do Rêgo.
The Head of Department added that the facilities needed for testing the candidates include reagents such as Complete Blood Count (CBC), chemistry, and other reagents. So we ask the candidates and the public to patient and wait for the equipment to arrive in Timor before we will conduct the medical test.
