Dili, 27 April 2026 (Media Democracia) – The Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL), through the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Service (DSIC – Portuguese acronym), executed a warrant from the Dili Court of First Instance (TJPID) based on NUC: 0285/25.TRDIL, detaining the convicted person MSdC to serve a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months.
The warrant executed by DSIC relates to a case of negligent homicide involving the convict, who caused the death of Zizelma Maria Verdial in the Delta-II area last year, 2025.
According to information accessed by Media Democracia from security authorities, after DSIC received the detention warrant from the Dili District Court of First Instance (TJPID), the team immediately coordinated with the PNTL Manufahi Municipal Command to locate the convict’s residence and detain him in Ailuli Hamlet, Letefoho Village, Same Administrative Post, Manufahi Municipality.
After DSIC presented the TJPID warrant registered under case number NUC: 0285/25.TRDIL, the family cooperated with security forces to transport the convict from Manufahi to the DSIC office at PNTL General Headquarters in Caicoli, Dili, for identification and certification before being transferred to Bekora Prison to serve the four-year and six-month sentence.
Recall that on Wednesday (01/04), the TR through the panel of judges issued a ruling on the negligent homicide case involving defendant MSDC, which resulted in the death of Zizelma Maria Verdiál.
Thus, through that ruling, the TR sentenced the convicted MSDC to prison because the facts proved the convict’s involvement in the case.
