Dili, June 18, 2026 (Media Democracia) – Major Edi Fernando Viana and Major José Rodrigues da Cruz have completed a one-year peace support mission in the Nation of South Sudan.
On June 17, 2026, Vice Chief of General Staff of FALINTIL-Timor-Leste Defence Force (F-FDTL), Major General Calisto Santos Coliati, received the two F-FDTL members, Major Edi Fernando Viana and Major José Rodrigues da Cruz, who have completed their one-year peace support mission in South Sudan.
At the meeting, Vice Chief of General Staff F-FDTL, Major General Calisto Santos Coliati, expressed congratulations and a warm welcome to the two members, because they successfully completed the mission well and successfully in South Sudan.
“I, on behalf of the Command, would like to convey my congratulations to you both for fulfilling the mission well and successfully. Today you return to Timor-Leste in good condition, which is a source of pride for the Institution and the Nation.” said Major General Calisto Santos Coliati.
This peace support mission reflects F-FDTL’s commitment to contribute to stability and peacekeeping at the international level, through participation in operations that promote security and peace in Nations that need support from the international community.
