AAE-FEAH Launches Press Release: Denounces Illegal Contributions and Falsification of Grades at UNTL

Dil, June 18, 2026 (Media Democracia) – The Student Academic Association of the Faculty of Education, Arts and Humanities (AAE-FEAH) together with the Tetun Department Student Association (AEDT) launched a press release in Dili, 17 June 2026, to denounce cases of illegal charging and grade falsification practices involving a lecturer with the initials A.A.T in the Tetun Language Department at UNTL. AAE-FEAH demands that the UNTL Rector issue a dispatch to the Disciplinary Council to process it according to the law, and warns that if there is no immediate action, students will completely block the administration of the Faculty and University.

At the press conference, the Spokesperson for the Student Academic Association of the Faculty of Education, Arts and Humanities, Auxiliadora de Santa Rosa, stated that the lecturer with the initials A.A.T has repeatedly deceived students to hand over money from 2017 until today, continuing to trick them to use it for private interests.

Regarding the case where the lecturer with initials A.A.T illegally charges students, which makes students victims of this bad behavior in the Tetun Language Department, the Student Academic Association of the Faculty of Education and AEDT together with active students want to take a position to oppose these injustices, because this ‘prostitution-like’ action directly affects students, because the lecturers don’t teach how to put everything in the right way. The lecturer has repeatedly deceived students to hand over money from 2017 until today, continuing to deceive students that lecturer A.A.T does for private interests.” said the Spokesperson for the Student Academic Association of the Faculty of Education and Humanities (AAE-FEAH) Auxiliadora de Santa Rosa at the Liceu Campus.

She also affirmed that this behavior will ruin UNTL’s future and that UNTL, which should be a place of learning, could turn into a place where lecturers commit corruption.

This situation has become public discussion at UNTL and many students are traumatized by this behavior, which in the future will damage UNTL’s reputation and UNTL, which should be a place of learning, could turn into a place for lecturers to commit corruption at UNTL, especially our country Timor-Leste if relevant parties don’t combat it quickly.” the Spokesperson affirmed.

The Spokesperson asked the Department, Faculty and University structures to exercise maximum control over all Departments so that acts like illegal contributions dont happen again at the university.

We ask the department and faculty structures to exercise maximum control over all departments in FEAH, so that acts like illegal contributions and others don’t happen again in the future. We ask the university, especially the University Rector, to issue a dispatch to the disciplinary council to open discussion, so it can be processed according to the norms and laws established at UNTL.” said the Spokesperson.

On the other hand, representative of the Student Academic Association of the Faculty of Education and Humanities Eugenio Soares Tilman said that if the faculty or university doesn’t take measures to resolve this problem, the Student Academic Associations will join forces to completely block administration at the Faculty.

The demand we described is that if the faculty and university do not quickly take measures to resolve these problems, in the next three days the Student Academic Association FEAH together with AEDT and ten departments will join forces to totally block the administration process at the faculty and it may extend to the university.” said Eugenio.

In the release, they denounce the lecturer with initials A.A.T in the Tetun Language Department at UNTL who charges illegal contributions from students and is involved in grade falsification practices, AAE-FEAH asks the UNTL Rector to open disciplinary proceedings according to the law, and gives an ultimatum, if the Faculty and University don’t take action within three days, they will block FEAH administration and it could extend to all of UNTL.
