Aileu, July 22, 2026 (Media Democracia) – The CNRT Party Coordinator for Aileu Municipality, Rogério Araújo Mendonça, stated that the CNRT Party Structure in Aileu Municipality expresses its regret regarding the current situation that involves the use of the CNRT Party’s official logo. The party logo must be used according to the party’s rules and political objectives, in order to avoid use that could damage the party’s image and dignity in public.
It also includes the signature of CNRT party political cadres in a personal declaration letter between Mr. João Bosco Dos Santos and Mrs. Alda Maria Alves and all their families.
According to the CNRT Party Coordinator for Aileu Municipality, Rogério Araújo Mendonça, he affirms that the Declaration between Mr. João Bosco dos Santos and Mrs. Alda Maria Alves and all their families is considered a private matter and does not involve the CNRT Party.
“I myself, as the CNRT Party Coordinator for Aileu Municipality, had no knowledge about this matter,” he said. Therefore, the CNRT Party of Aileu Municipality notes that the use of party attributes and the party logo for personal interests clearly violates the CNRT Party Statutes. Because of this, after receiving a complaint from the victim Alda Maria Alves, the CNRT Party Structure of Aileu Municipality, which covers the four Administrative Posts, made the decision to hold this press conference on 20 July this year. The CNRT Party is a political party that recognizes that women’s participation is essential for national development and for a society that is just and promotes gender equality. We are committed to closely monitoring this situation. As the CNRT Party Coordinator for Aileu Municipality, he stressed that he will present this situation and will also submit the victim’s complaint.” He said this to journalists at the press conference at the CNRT Party Headquarters in Aileu Municipality, Monday (20/7/2026).
With the active participation of women in decision-making processes both within the party and in various sectors, the CNRT Party Structure of Aileu Municipality expresses solidarity with Mrs. Alda Maria Alves in the face of this.
He further informed that he has asked the National Political Commission and the CNRT Party’s Judicial Commission at the national level to open a process based on the CNRT Party Statutes.
“In the CNRT Party Statutes, Article 18 talks about sanctions. First, members may receive sanctions or disciplinary punishment from the CNRT Party for their actions that harm and violate the principles of the CNRT Party. In conclusion of this press conference, the CNRT Party Structure of Aileu Municipality, covering the Municipality down to the four Administrative Posts, jointly agreed to make the decision to suspend comrade João Bosco Dos Santos from the position of Executive Secretary of the CNRT Party in Aileu Municipality. An investigation process will be opened by the Judicial Commission during the suspension. He is prohibited from taking part in party activities while awaiting the decision from the National Political Commission. I think you followed that on Friday the team came to conduct the inspection, and then in the afternoon they immediately received a notification to Mr. João Bosco Dos Santos so that he cannot take part in the administration during the investigation phase.” he added.
So to say, Public Administration is currently running, which means we need someone to manage it. We also followed what happened in Bobonaro Municipality when there was a change in the PAM there.
But the national level delegated their people to fill the positions while waiting for the appointment from the Municipality. The same thing also happened in RAEOA.
Within the CNRT Party Structure there is a figure to exercise the PAM position. The decision has already been made. After this investigation is finished and the appointment comes, the structures will be happy with the decision.
