Dili, 13 April 2026 (Media Democracia) – National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL), through the Criminal Investigation Service supported by Baucau Command, executed a warrant from the Baucau First Instance Judicial Court to detain suspect AFB who committed a sexual violence crime against victim RdS in Uailili Village, Baucau Vila Administrative Post, Baucau Municipality in 2020.
PNTL executed judicial warrant number 0006/20.BCBCV and detained the accused with initials AFB and took him to Becora Prison to serve his 8-year sentence.
AFB is a convict for the crime of sexual violence as stipulated in Article 172 and also committed the crime of authorship as stipulated and punished in Article 30 of the Timor-Leste Penal Code.
On Thursday (09/4) at 08:00 morning, the Baucau Municipal Investigation Service supported by the National Criminal Investigation Service executed a warrant from the Baucau First Instance Judicial Court to search for convict AFB.
In this operation, the Criminal Investigation Service located the convict’s location in Rumbia Village, Caicoli Suco, Vera-Cruz Administrative Post, Dili Municipality and handcuffed him.
After the Criminal Investigation Service handcuffed convict AFB, they took him to the National Criminal Investigation Service building to process the documentation before taking him to Becora Prison to serve his 8-year sentence.
After documenting convict AFB, the National Criminal Investigation Service and Baucau Investigation Service, including Prison Guards, took the convict to Becora Prison to serve his sentence.
Director of the Criminal Investigation Service, Chief Superintendent João Belo dos Reis stated that yesterday they supported the Baucau Municipal Command in the investigation and detained some citizens.
“I don’t know the details yet, I can’t publish it to you guys at this moment.” João Belo told reporters at his office in Caicoli this Friday.
After documenting convict AFB, the National Criminal Investigation Service and Baucau Investigation Service, including Prison Guards, took the convict to Becora Prison to serve his sentence.
