Dili, June 12, 2026 (Media Democracia) – Dili District Court (TJPID), through Judge Ivan Patrocino Suritai, conducted the first judicial interrogation for the robbery crime that occurred at Praia dos Coqueiros, which resulted in Nadine Batista do Carmo losing her life and Euodia agile do Carmo being seriously injured, last Sunday (07/6). The case involves two suspects with initials JACDR and MZX.
In the first interrogation, the Public Prosecution Service, represented by Prosecutor Aderito Tilman, charged the suspects with three crimes: robbery, negligent homicide, and offenses against physical integrity that resulted in Nandine losing her life.
In its arguments for the case, the Public Prosecution Service requested that the Court apply preventive detention as a coercive measure for suspects JACDR and MZX, who stole a wallet at Praia dos Coqueiros resulting in victim Nadine Ribeiro do Carmo losing her life.
Meanwhile, the defense, represented by Public Defender Fernando Carvalho who provided legal assistance to the two suspects, asked the Court to apply periodic presentation as a coercive measure.
After the Court heard all parties, the Court postponed the process until 2:00 PM to issue its ruling on the case.
