Telemor and Revolta Boxing Launch ‘Municipal World’ Program to Develop Boxing Talent in the Municipalities.

Dili, August 05, 2026 (Media Democracia) – Telecommunications Company Telemor together with Revolta Boxing, Wednesday (05/08), officially launched the Municipal World program, an initiative that aims to identify, develop, and promote boxing athlete talent from all municipalities in Timor-Leste.

This program gives opportunities to young people and amateur athletes who have potential to show their abilities through competition, to represent their municipality and open the way to international competitions, including matches with athletes from Indonesia.

According to Xander Serano, many athletes in the municipalities have great quality and ability, but have not yet had the opportunity to show their skills. Because of this, the Municipal World program will be a platform for athletes to compete and represent their municipality, while promoting a healthy competitive spirit and strengthening national unity.

“The objective of the partnership between Telemor and Revolta Boxing is to give all Timorese the opportunity to show their talent. Before this we focused more on professional athletes, but now we are shifting our focus to amateur athletes to look for national talent in each municipality. I believe there are many good athletes in the municipalities, and through this event we want to identify and develop them. The program will start in September and run for two months with competitions every two weeks. After that it will continue until the Municipal World program is finished, which gives athletes the opportunity to represent their municipality and fight with pride for Timor-Leste,” said Xander Serano to journalists at Timor Plaza, Wednesday (05/08/2026).

He emphasized that this program is not only about holding national competitions, but also about opening the way for athletes from the municipalities to gain experience, develop their skills, and prepare themselves for international level competitions.

“The competition will be held in several municipalities in the Eastern and Western regions, before continuing in Dili until it finishes. So far, 10 municipalities have registered with a total of 100 athletes, with each municipality represented by 10 athletes. We want all 13 municipalities to participate, but for now only 10 municipalities are ready. The municipality that becomes champion will get the opportunity to represent Timor-Leste in an international competition against athletes from Indonesia. This is the way to open opportunities for talented athletes from the municipalities,” he said.

In addition, Telemor CEO, Mr. Etan, said that Telemor reaffirms its commitment to continue supporting and working with Revolta Boxing to develop boxing in Timor-Leste. He said the company doesn’t only focus on business and its products, but also has the willingness to contribute to community development, especially young people who have talent in boxing. Through this program and cooperation, Telemor wants to facilitate and open opportunities for athletes in Dili and also in the municipalities to show and develop their abilities.

“This program and cooperation between Revolta Boxing and Telemor is to promote our young talents who have not yet had the opportunity to show their talent in boxing. This is a good opportunity, and we are ready to continue to support and cooperate with Revolta Boxing. As a company, Telemor does not focus only on our business and products, but also wholeheartedly wants to support our community, especially young people who have talent in boxing. Through this program, we want to facilitate opportunities for communities in Dili and also in the municipalities to develop and show their abilities,” he concluded.
