Dili, 29 May 2026 ( Media Democracia) – The National Police of Timor-Leste (PNTL), through the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Service (DSIK), has handed over three (3) suspects, along with contraband goods, to the Bobonaro Municipality Command to be presented to the Public Minister’s Office to follow the legal process.
On Wednesday (27/05), PNTL detained three (3) suspects with the initials AA, RD, and DA, who imported and transported contraband goods such as Coca-Cola, Sprite, Red Bull, Larutan Cap Kaki Tiga, Milko, Pocari Sweat, and others.
Based on information obtained by Media Democracia, a joint team consisting of the Maritime Police Unit (UPM) and N2 Naval Component of FALINTIL-Forsa Defeza Timor-Leste (F-FDTL) arrested the three suspects along with evidence of the contraband crime in the Tibar area, Liquiçá Municipality, at 14:00 OTL.
After the joint team stopped the transport in Tibar, the team immediately transported the evidence to PNTL General Headquarters at the DSIK Directorate of Criminal Investigation Service building to submit it for investigation and identification.
After the handover, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Service continued to submit it for the flagrante delicto process. The case is being processed under NUK: 0199/26.PNSIC.
