The Ministry of Education made a surprise visit to EEBF Fahiteen to observe the School Feeding Program and the Learning Process.

Dili, September 11, 2026 (Media Democracia) – The Minister of Education (ME) made a surprise visit to Escola Ensinu Báziku Filiál (EEBF) Fahiteen, with the objective of directly observing the implementation of the School Feeding Program and the students’ learning process at the school.

According to a statement accessed by Média Democracia on the official page of the Ministry of Education on Thursday (10/09), during the visit the Minister of Education observed the preparation of the school meals and ensured that the food was prepared properly and in accordance with the determined menu.

In addition, the Minister also directly observed the learning process and the interaction between teachers and students in the classrooms.

The Ministry of Education recognizes that there is a possibility that some schools have not yet implemented the School Feeding Program according to the rules and standards set.

Because of this, the Ministry of Education will continue to carry out supervision and monitoring together with the Ministry of State Administration, to ensure that students receive nutritious and healthy meals every day.

The Ministry of Education also expressed its appreciation and gratitude to the community, parents, and everyone who continues to provide support and attention to the implementation of the School Feeding Program.

The Ministry of Education encourages the community to report any problems or implementation that doesn’t follow the rules in schools, because cooperation from all parties is very important to improve the quality of education and the well-being of students.

Note:

The School Feeding Program is a policy of the Government of Timor-Leste that provides daily, healthy, and nutritious meals to students in schools.

The program has three main objectives:

  1. Improve nutrition by ensuring that children receive balanced meals that support their growth and development.
  2. Improve the learning process by increasing students’ concentration, participation, and school attendance.
  3. Promote local products by supporting the local economy through purchasing food from local farmers and producers.
